Scouts Community Challenge 16/07/2011
The Scouts have as part of their Community Challenge, built 2 reptile hibernacula's at Knowle Park. This involves digging a hole about the size of a single bed and about a metre deep then making sure it is free draining and then backfilling with rubble and having access tubes for reptiles. There are plans to build on an adjacent site to Knowle Park so many reptiles are going to be displaced, so this could be vital to their survival. This project would not have been possible without the consent of Fair Oak Parish Council, and the local Ranger, thank you for allowing us to undertake this project. The Scouts provided the tools and muscle, the Parish Council provided the materials. We hope to get a sign made so that park visitors are aware who built them. And last but not least, well done to the Scouts for getting stuck in with this project, a big well done to you all. July 2011 Comments Your comment will be posted after it is approved. Leave a Reply |
