All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network Scouts ranging in ages from 6-25 can earn badges in recognition of their achievements.

Badges are segregated in to different categories within each group, this will be covered further under each group page.

The requirements obviously vary depending on the childs age and type of badge.  The work towards these badges can be completed as individuals, groups, can be from tasks completed within the Scout Movement, can be from outside the Movement from hobbies to sports clubs and after school clubs.

All that is required is some proof that the Scout can demonstrate their knowledge in a particular area, and if required a school teacher or club leader or similar can verify the requirement.

There is no pressure for Scouts to complete any particular badge.  Badge work and the various tasks required for badges are part of Scouting, they will collect badges just by joining in and having fun.
